The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport – Institute of Productivity and Quality witnessed the defense of the Ph.D. dissertation submitted by researcher Maisa Mohamed Mahmoud Omar Al-Hashimi, titled: “The Impact of Strategic Planning as a Tool for Integrating University Students in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals”, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the institute’s headquarters.
The dissertation emphasized the importance of strategic planning as an effective mechanism to increase university students’ participation in community service and support efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, in line with the Arab Academy’s mission to connect scientific research with national and regional needs.
The defense and evaluation committee consisted of:
- Prof. Dr. Mohamed Wahba Mohamed Hassan – Professor of Management at the Academy (Supervisor).
- Dr. Mohamed Hassan Abdel Rabah – Dean of the Institute of Productivity and Quality (Supervisor).
- Dr. Khaled Abdel Meguid Mohamed Ghannab – Professor of Economics and Public Finance and Vice Dean of the Higher Institute of Computer Science and Information Systems (Examiner).
- Dr. Abeer Mohamed Rafiq Mohamed Seddik – Dean of the Faculty of Language and Media at the Academy (Examiner).
The committee praised the researcher’s distinguished scientific effort and the practical outcomes and recommendations of her study, noting that the dissertation represents a valuable contribution to youth empowerment and their integration into national and international development plans, reflecting the Academy’s role as a distinguished scientific and research institution.
